China's printing industry has been deeply integrated into the global printing and processing industry chain, providing printing and packaging services to more than 50 countries in the international community. Data show that in 2017, China's printing industry's external processing trade amounted to 84 billion 200 million yuan.
The "World Printing and Communication Forum 2018" held in Shanghai on the 23rd revealed that dozens of countries around the world have set up factories in China in the field of printing. By December 2017, there were nearly 2000 foreign-funded printing enterprises in China, with a total investment of over 40 billion US dollars. At the same time, China has increased its investment in the printing industry of relevant countries around the world, covering Asia, Europe, the Americas and Africa.
Liu Xiaokai, Director of the Printing and Distribution Department of the State Press and Publishing Administration, said at the forum that China's printing industry has achieved rapid growth in the past 40 years since the reform and opening up, and promoted the adjustment and optimization of the global industrial structure; in 2017, the number of Chinese printing enterprises approached 100,000, nine times that of 1979.
At the same time, China continues to reduce tariffs on printing equipment, has become an important overseas market for many international equipment manufacturers. Among them, the import tariff rates of laser typesetting equipment, inkjet printing press and flexible printing press have dropped from 16%, 18% and 18% in 2001 to 2.5%, 4% and 2.5% in 2018.
In 2017, China's imports of printing equipment and equipment amounted to $2.37 billion, an increase of 16.5% over the same period of the year. China has maintained a strong purchasing power for high-end printing equipment for several consecutive years. Germany, Switzerland, Japan and other countries come to China to invest in factories or cooperate with Chinese enterprises. Heidelberg, KOMORI, HP, Martini and other companies have achieved good results in China's development.
According to the relevant provisions, China will continue to support and promote the Free Trade Zone to further relax the restrictions on the share ratio of publication printing enterprises, gradually narrow the scope of the negative list of access, promote the reduction of import tariffs on medium and high-end printing equipment, and enhance the level of liberalization and facilitation of printing foreign processing trade.
